The village with a Gothic Church, shuttered belfry with Renaissance epitaph and timbered Baroque parish house is located 6 km north of Mnichovo Hradiště on the left bank of the Jizera River

The first mention of the village is in 1225. The Gothic Church of St. Lawrence from the late 13th and 14th centuries is also very interesting. The originally Gothic Church was rebuilt in  Renaissance style in the 16th century. The shuttered belfry with Renaissance epitaph dates back to 1654. The timbered Baroque parish house with mansard roof dates back to the 18th century.

At nearby Žabakor pond there is a burial ground of the Urnfield people dating back to the 7th to 5th centuries BC.

The village is situated at the intersection of hiking trails, as well as the starting point to Drábské světničky and Mužský Hill. The green signs direct the visitor via Loukov and Loukovec to Mohelnice nad Jizerou and then on to Mnichovo Hradiště. The yellow signs lead to Studený průchod.
